Thanks as always to those of you who visit the website, first of all. We have tried to keep the columns current, and appreciate your visits! As for those of you who still visit the blog...God bless you.

I had an opportunity lately to donate about 80 copies of my first book, Exhausted Rapunzel - Tales of Modern Castle Life, to soldiers serving overseas. As I sat signing each one before boxing them up, I thought - what do you say to a soldier? How do you say thank you?

You just do, I guess, in whatever way feels right. So, thank you, all who are in harm's way. With all the great opportunities that came my way with Exhausted Rapunzel, that was the biggest honor. So, if you are perhaps serving overseas and see a copy of my book, pick it up! It's just for you. (Look at the dedication, and you'll see what I mean.)

No Bloggy, No Cry

OK, I've accepted it - I am just not a blogger! Some have complained, using the overworked phrase, "Deirdre, you need to update!" Here's the thing: I do not do something every day that is worth blogging about. I don't even THINK something every day that is worth blogging about. I equate blogging to googling; another way to avoid doing the laundry.

I will keep posting music, though.

Not Dan's Fault

Oh, I forgot to mention, when I posted Dan Fogelberg's "To the Morning" song, that that is NOT his video - that is someone who apparently dreams of being a knight. Not Dan - repeat - not Dan. The song is beautiful - you have to be somewhere quiet, and a little contemplative, to get into it. Like skiing early in the morning by yourself.
